CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel soccer team hits the road for a pair of Southern Conference matches. The Bulldogs take on VMi on Oct. 8, and UNCG on Oct. 10.
Madden's Big Week
Alex Madden her offense last week as she scored three goals in a pair of games for the Bulldogs. Madden scored both goals in the Bulldogs 2-0 victory over Chattanooga. She then scored to give The Citadel a halftime lead over Samford on Sunday.
Yosue Continues Scoring
Forward
Suzuka Yosue continues to score at a high rate. The junior leads the Southern Conference in goals and assists. She enters the week with eight goals and 10 assists. She is looking to become the first player in program history to register double-digit totals in goals and assists.
Scouting VMI
VMI enters the match with an overall record of 3-10, and a 0-3 mark in conference play. Riley Flangan leads the offense with seven goals and 17 points. Her seven goals are second in the conference behind Yosue's eight. The Citadel is 6-7 all-time against the Keydets, but have won each of the last three meetings.
Scouting UNCG
UNCG enters the week with a record of 2-4-5, and a 1-1-1 mark in conference action. The Spartans will host Mercer on Friday. Nicole Souply leads the offense with two goals. As a team, UNCG has only scored five goals on the year. The Spartans have won all 20 previous meetings between the two schools.
