Bulldogs Fall on the Road at Western Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Citadel offense had a pair of 100-yard rushers for the second time this spring, and the defense did not allow a second-half point, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs fell 21-14 at Western Carolina Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
  • The Catamounts got on the board first as they marched 58 yards on the opening drive and scored on a Donnavan Spencer one-yard run.
  • The Citadel answered right back with a nine-play drive that ended with a two-yard touchdown run from Nathan Storch.
  • WCU found the end zone again in the second quarter when Mikai Stanley scored from 18-yards out.
  • The Catamounts took advantage of a Bulldog fumble late in the second quarter and capitalized with a 67-yard touchdown run from Spencer.
  • The Bulldogs drove down the field on the opening drive of the second half, but turned the ball over on downs inside the Catamount five.
  • The Citadel kept the offense going on the next series with an eight-play drive that resulted in a 20-yard touchdown run from Jaylan Adams.
