How it Happened
- The Citadel got on the board first as Cole Simpson delivered a RBI single in the first inning.
- Samford tied the game in the second inning on a double off the bat of Will David.
- The Citadel regained the lead in the third inning after Ryan McCarthy singled to start the inning and scored on a base hit off the bat of Crosby Jones.
- The Citadel added two more runs in the fourth inning on a RBI double from Jeffery Brown and a RBI single from McCarthy.
- Samford was able to get a run back in the fifth inning, but quickly gave it back on an error in the sixth.
- The Citadel offense got RBI singles from Travis Lott and Brown in the sixth inning ahead of McCarthy's grand slam into the bullpen in right center.
- Samford responded in the home-half of the inning with three runs, two of which came on a base hit off the bat of Garrett Howe.
- Samford continued its comeback in the ninth inning as they score four runs to complete the comeback and walk off with the victory on a base hit from Ryan Crockett.
