JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Citadel forced a pair of set tiebreakers in singles action on Friday afternoon but could not overcome ETSU on the road, dropping a 7-0 decision at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex to open the weekend.

Match Rundown

ETSU took a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. Zvonko Bencedic, who returned to action for the first time since March 20, paired with Josiah Schainblatt at the No. 2 spot to win three games off Juan Sebastian Zabala and Thiago Pernas.
In singles play, both Schainblatt and Lucas Robins forced tiebreakers in their respective matches but could not quite come away with victories in either. Robins claimed the opening set at No. 5 before falling in three sets.
Will Graham took five games off the nationally-ranked Dimitri Badra at the top spot in a tightly-contested match.
