CHARLESTON, S.C. - Ten cadet-athletes participated in The Citadel's joint commissioning ceremony on Friday morning inside McAlister Field House and are set to begin their careers with the United States Armed Forces.
The 10 participants will represent four different branches, with six joining the United States Army, two in the United States Air Force and one each joining the United States Navy and the United States Marines.
Jenna Adcock (soccer) and
Tamia Burch (track and field) have been commissioned as quartermasters in the Army,
Kenslee Padgett (track and field) and
Donnie Brechtel III (football) will be in ordnance,
Max Brabston (rifle) will represent military intelligence and
Houston Tywater (wrestling) will serve in the infantry. All will hold the rank of Second Lieutenant.
Garrett Sebold (tennis) will serve as a surface warfare officer holding the rank of Ensign in the Navy, and
Thomas Crawford (football) will serve his country as a pilot in the Air Force holding the rank of Second Lieutenant.
Timiebi Ogobri (track and field) and
Samantha Engel (track and field) will serve as Second Lieutenants in the Air Force and Marines, respectively.
The Citadel's 2021 graduation ceremonies for the Corps of Cadets will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. inside McAlister Field House.
