The Citadel Lands 241 Cadet-Athletes on SoCon Academic Honor Roll

2020-21 Academic Honor Roll Members | 2020-21 Commissioner's Medal Recipients | 2020-21 Perfect GPAs

SPARTANBURG, S.C.
– The Southern Conference announced its 2020-21 Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's Medal recipients on Thursday afternoon, with The Citadel placing 241 representatives on the Honor Roll and 93 of those also earning the prestigious Commissioner's Medal for the academic year.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, a cadet-athlete must have posted a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) for the 2020-21 academic year; for the Commissioner's Medal, that minimum GPA increases to 3.8 in all academic work for the year. Both numbers represent a significant increase for the Bulldogs from the 2019-20 year, which saw 210 Honor Roll members and 63 Commissioner's Medal recipients.

In addition to the Honor Roll and Commissioner's Medal recipients, 41 of The Citadel's cadet-athletes posted perfect 4.0 GPAs this year, up from just 23 in 2019-20; the Bulldogs' 41 perfect GPAs were the most among SoCon members.

Football led the way overall with 62 Honor Roll members, and soccer paced The Citadel's women's sports with 26 honorees. Full lists of The Citadel's honorees are included at the links above.

The Citadel's cadet-athletes recorded a combined department GPA of 3.365 for the Spring 2021 semester with every program recording at least a 3.2 team GPA. In total, 93 cadet-athletes earned Dean's List recognition, 107 earned Gold Stars (3.7 GPA or higher), and 61 finished the Spring 2021 semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
