SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced a grand total 77 The Citadel student- and cadet-athletes secured distinction on the league's Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Academic All-Southern Conference teams, per a release from the league office late Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs' fall sports accounted for 34 honorees while the spring squads closed out the semester with 43.

To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the spring semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.

Of particular note, eight student- and cadet-athlete managed to maintain a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA for the year. Additionally, four student- and cadet-athletes secured repeat performances on both the fall and spring Academic All-SoCon teams, including: Samantha Barnes (VB / T&F), Rachel Reininger (VB / T&F), Abigail Thiessen (XC / T&F) and Jack Weil (FB / T&F).

For the Bulldogs, football paced the fall sports with a year-best 16 while track & field set the tone for the spring sports behind 12 honorees. Baseball also notched a double-digit showing with 10 while soccer picked up eight, tennis locked down seven and both volleyball and rifle garnered six apiece.
