ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Citadel cross country teams got top performances from
Sam Sharnas and
Heidi Fortin at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational Saturday morning. Sharnas finished third in the men's 8K race, while Fortin placed second in the women's 5K race.
Men's Race
- The Bulldogs finished in third place, just ahead of Southern Conference competitor Wofford.
- Sam Sharnas paced the men's team with a time of 26:12.03 to finish third.
- Andrew Smith finished 12th with a time of 27:32.90.
- Ty Duben ran a time of 28:06.23 to finish 20th.
- Robert Perrecone finished 24th with a time of 28:32.59.
- Alex Wulfhorst ran a 28:21.32 to place 28th.
- Hayden Hare rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs with a time of 29:42.80.
Women's Race
- The Bulldogs finished sixth in the team standings.
- Heidi Fortin led the way with a time of 19:04.70 to finish second overall.
- Rebecca McCorkendale was the second finisher in a time of 20:44.94, finishing in 17th place.
- Lilly Inman and Kennedy DeLancy finished back-to-back. Inman finished in a time of 24:50.94, while DLlancy crossed the line in a time of 24:%3.96.
- Claire Thomas was the fifth Bulldog finisher, with a time of 26:51.34.
