CHARLESTON, S.C. –
The Citadel women's soccer team returns from a 12-day break to hit the road for a pair of Southern Conference road matches. The Bulldogs will take on ETSU on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. and Western Carolina on Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.

Well Rested
The Bulldogs are well rested heading into conference action. The Citadel has not played a match since an 8-0 victory over Johnson on Sept. 11. The break comes on the heels of a stretch where The Citadel play four matches in a nine-day span.

All-Time Assists Leader
Suzuka Yosue had three assists in the victory over Johnson, raising her career total to a school-record 20 assists. It breaks the old mark of 19 set by Vanessa Aponte (2010-14). Yosue now has seven assists this season, equaling the school's single-season mark. The mark was originally set by Aponte in 2012, then matched by Lea Raedle in 2013 and 2014, and Yosue in 2019.

Scoring in Bunches
The Citadel offense has scored 28 goals in just eight matches. The 28 goals are 13 more than any other team in the conference. The 28 goals are tied for the seventh most in the NCAA this season.

Scouting ETSU
The Bucs are 3-12 on the season and are coming off ties in each of their last two matches. ETSU has played two of the same opponents as the Bulldogs, defeating Presbyterian and UNC Asheville by 1-0 scores. The Bucs have scored just five goals on the season, with Kyra Ranvek leading the way with two. Shu Ohba has allowed just three goals and is the reigning SoCon Defensive Player of the Week.

Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts enter the weekend with a record of 5-3-1 before a match with Mercer on Friday. WCU has scored 11 goals on the year with Kristen Hahn, Valentine Pursey and Naya Marcil each scoring twice. Marcil is the reigning SoCon Offensive Player of the Week after her two-goal performance against Ohio last week. Goalkeeper Melody Mezzina has allowed just one goal and made 21 saves on the season.

Up Next
The Bulldogs play their first match at WLI Field in nearly a month as they welcome Chattanooga on Oct. 1. The match is set to get underway at 11 a.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
