CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team picked up a pair of victories Sunday afternoon inside McAlister Field House. The Bulldogs opened the day with a 28-17 victory over LIU and followed it up with a 23-15 Southern Conference victory over Davidson.

How it Happened

The Citadel got off to a quick start as Dazjon Casto secured a near fall in the first period to open a 6-0 lead.
He continued to control the match into the third period where he secured a takedown and turned into a fall.
Selwyn Porter followed with an impressive tech fall victory at 165. He capped off the win with six near fall points in the third period.
Ben Haubert battled his way to a 6-1 victory at 184 points. He used takedowns in each of the first two periods for the win.
Michael McAleavey used an early trip to turn it into a fall in just 2:03.
Jake Rotunda impressed during his match as he scored eight points in the opening period and used four near-fall points in the third for the tech fall victory.
Ethan Willis controlled his match throughout and worked his way to a 4-0 victory to close out the match.

How it Happened

The Bulldogs got out to an early lead as Dazjon Casto and Selwyn Porter each posted majority decision victories.
Ben Haubert picked up his second victory of the day as he fought off a takedown in the final seconds to hold on for a 3-2 victory.
Michael McAleavey got a reversal in the third period and outlasted Mitchell Trigg, 4-3.
Jake Rotunda secured the team victory as he started the match with a takedown and was able to ride out the entire second period on top in a 5-1 win.
