SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference (SoCon) today announced Suzuka Yosue as its Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time Yosue has earned the honor this season, as well as for her career.

Yosue played a hand in all three goals The Citadel scored this weekend at Furman and Wofford in back-to-back shutout wins. In Thursday's 2-0 triumph at Furman, Yosue crossed a ball from the left end line for Jimena Risoto to drill into the net in the 24th minute. With the Paladins threatening late, Yosue came through again with a goal of her own in the 85th minute, receiving a great ball down the left wing, making an even greater cut past a defender and putting the game out of reach to give the Bulldogs just their third-ever win over Furman and first for head coach Ciaran Traquair.

After a scoreless first half Sunday at Wofford, Yosue got The Citadel on the board in minute 50 when she headed a corner kick from Makenzie DePriest-Kessler to the top of the box for a charging Ashley Frank to bury the ball to the bottom left corner.  

Yosue's 32 career assists is a school record, while moving into second all-time with 74 points, just five away from the record of 79 set by Mariana Garcia (2010-13). Her 21 career goals ties her for fifth all-time with Amy Loughran (2008-11). She leads the SoCon this season with eight assists, third with 16 points, and seventh with four goals.
