Owen Sharnas Earns All-Freshman at SoCon Championships

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The Citadel served as hosts of Sunday's SoCon Championships, held at Johns Island County Park. Men's freshman Owen Sharnas finished on the SoCon All-Freshman Team, becoming The Citadel's second recipient in this category in the last three years and third in the last four between both genders. Sam Sharnas and Heidi Fortin were the top finishers for the Bulldogs in the men's 8K and women's 5K, respectively.

- The Bulldogs placed seventh with 203 points.
- Sam Sharnas finished with a team-best 24th place at 25:24.1.
- Owen Sharnas earned his SoCon All-Freshman status with a 26th-place finish at 25:29.5.
- Andrew Smith was 52nd with a time of 26:30.9.
- Ty Duben finished 58th at 26:41.3.
- Will Ray placed 60th at 26:45.4 as.
- Robert Perrecone took 69th at 27:08.3.
- Aidan O'Donnell was right behind Perrecone in 70th at 27:15.3
- Liam O'Donnell took 76th at 27:52.2
WOMEN'S RESULTS
- The women placed tenth with 288 points.
- Heidi Fortin took 37th in a time of 19:03.7
- Emma Cunningham was the Bulldogs' next finisher, taking 71st at 20:34.3
- Darrian Cole was right behind in 72nd with 20:42.4
- Gabby Shea ran 75th in a time of 21:43.9
- Leska Whitmarsh was 77th, clocking in at 23:32.7
- Brianna Arguello finished 78th at 25:26.5
