  • The Bulldogs close out the home schedule on Nov. 12 against Virginia University of Lynchburg with a2 p.m. kickoff.

  • The game marks the first meeting between the two teams in any sport.
  • The Dragons enter the game with an 0-9 record. This is their third trip to South Carolina this season after having already played at Presbyterian and South Carolina State.
  • The game marks the latest scheduled non-conference home game since the Bulldogs welcomed Charleston Southern to Johnson Hagood Stadium in 2002. The Bulldogs and Bucs did play a game in late November in 2018 after the game had to be rescheduled due to a hurricane.
  • The Bulldogs will honor several members of the football program prior to kickoff. These players will be stepping onto the field for the final time inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.
  • Quarterback Peyton Derrick went 11-of-13 for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Chattanooga. The two touchdown passes marked his first multi-touchdown game in a Bulldog uniform.
  • Braden Walker rushed for a career-high 96 yards against the Mocs, including a career-long run of 62 yards to set up the game's first touchdown.
  • Walker has the two longest runs from scrimmage this season. He previously had a 59-yard run against Wofford.Freshman Johnny Crawford III scored his first career touchdown against Chattanooga when he scored from one yard out.
  • Christian Hilton had three catches for 50 yards, including his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Inside The Numbers
 1 - Saturday's game against Virginia Lynchburg marks the first game between the two programs in any sport. It is also the first time the Bulldogs will play a non-conference home game this late in the season since the rescheduled game against Charleston Southern in 2018.
31 - The Citadel is tied for the nationally lead with 31 fourth-down attempts. The Bulldogs are tied with Central Connecticut and Lamar for the lead. The Citadel's 14 conversions are the ninth most in the FCS this season.
36:19 - The Bulldogs rank second in the FCS in time of possession this season. The Citadel has won the time of possession battle in all nine games so far this season. The Bulldogs led the FCS in time of possession just a week ago.
62 - B-Back Braden Walker broke free on a 62-yard run in the first quarter to set up a touchdown. The run was the longest play from scrimmage for the Bulldogs during the 2022 season. Walker holds the two longest plays from scrimmage this season, including a 59-yard run against Wofford.
