Inside The Numbers
 4 - The Citadel defense intercepted four passes in the victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg. It marked the first time since Nov. 7, 2015 against VMI the Bulldogs intercepted four passes in a game. Chris Beverly's 48-yard return for a touchdown was also the first since Jay Smith took one back 31 yards against Furman on April 10, 2021.
15 - The Bulldog defense recorded 15.0 tackles-for-loss in the victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg. The 15.0 TFLs are tied for the fourth-most in a FCS game this season. Rett Russell led the way with 2.5, while Phillip Collins added 2.0 TFLs.
66 - The Citadel scored 66 points on nine touchdowns and a field goal against Virginia University of Lynchburg. The 66 points are the most scored by the Bulldogs since scoring 69 points in the 2015 season opener against Davidson.
78 - Saturday's game at VMI is the 78th meeting between the two schools dating back to 1920. The Citadel holds a 43-32-2 advantage in the all-time series and is coming off a 35-24 victory in Charleston last season.

The Game
The Citadel closes out the 2022 season on the road in the Military Classic of the South on Nov. 19. Kickoff from Lexington, Virginia is set for 12 p.m.

Saturday's game with VMI marks the 78th all-time meeting between the schools with the Bulldogs holding a 43-32-2 advantage in the series.


Last Year vs. VMI
The Citadel got a pair of rushing touchdowns from Logan Billings as the Bulldogs ran for 363 yards in knocking off No. 18 VMI, 35-24, inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.


Dogs Post Shutout
The Citadel shut out Virginia University of Lynchburg in the 2022 home finale. The shutout was the first for the Bulldogs since the 2015 season opener, a 69-0 victory over Davidson.


Bulldogs Score 9 TDs
The Citadel scored nine touchdowns in the home finale against Virigina University of Lynchburg. The Bulldogs had seven rushing touchdowns, one passing touchdown and returned an interception for a score. It is the most points scored since the 2015 season opener against Davidson.


7 Rushing TDs
The Bulldogs rushed for seven touchdowns in the victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg. It was the most rushing TDs since scoring eight times in the 2015 season. opener


452 Rushing Yards
The Citadel rushed for 452 yards in the home finale against Virginia University of Lynchburg. It is the most rushing yards since running for 463 against Samford on Nov. 5, 2016.


Beverly Pick 6
Chris Beverly returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter against Virginia University of Lynchburg. It was the first interception return for touchdown in Beverly's career. It also marked the second-straight week he returned an interception 48 yards.


Four Interceptions
The Citadel intercepted four passes in the win over Virginia University of Lynchburg. Chris Beverly intercepted a pass for the second-straight week,while Rett Russell, Kyler Estes and Avery Dixon each had their first interceptions of their Bulldog careers. It marked the first time the Bulldogs had four interceptions in a game since Nov. 7, 2015 against VMI.


Russell Shows Out
Linebacker Rett Russell showed out against Virginia University of Lynchburg. The grad transfer registered 2.5 sacks and had an outstanding one-handed interception in the first half.


Hudson Finds End Zone Twice
True freshman JJ Hudson saw his first collegiate action and responded  with a pair of touchdowns on just five touches. Hudson caught a 14-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, then got the edge in the fourth quarter for a 75-yard touchdown run.


Monroe Scores on Reverse
Ha'Keem Monroe will always remember his first touch of the the football in his college career. Monroe took the pitch on the reverse and raced his way to a 47-yard touchdown.
