CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel head baseball coach
Tony Skole announced its 2023 baseball schedule on Thursday. The Bulldogs will have 37 games at Joseph. P Riley Jr. Park, including matchups with South Carolina and Coastal Carolina.
The Bulldogs open the season by playing 29 of their first 35 games at home. That stretch includes playing each of the first seven weekends at The Joe.
During the first seven weekends of the season, the Bulldogs will play host to Delaware State (Feb. 17-19), Lehigh (Feb. 24-26), Long Island (March 3-5), Holy Cross (March 10-12), Kansas (March 17-19), Southern Conference foe Mercer (March 24-26) and Ball State (April 6-8).
That stretch of the season also includes midweek home games against Charleston Southern (Feb. 21 and March 21)), South Carolina (March 28) and Winthrop (April 4). The Bulldogs will also play midweek road games at Winthrop (March 1), South Carolina (March 7) and USC Upstate (March 14).
The remainder of the Bulldogs SoCon schedule features home weekends against ETSU (April 21-23), VMI (May 5-7) and Wofford (May 18-20), as well as road series at Samford (April 31-May 2), UNCG (May 14-16) and Western Carolina (May 12-14).
The Citadel will play its final non-conference weekend on April 28-30 at NC State.
The Bulldogs return the favor to CSU with games in North Charleston on April 25 and May 3. The Citadel and College of Charleston will meet twice this season, April 19 at Riley Park and May 16 at Patriots Point.
The Citadel's final home midweek game of the season will take place May 9 when the Bulldogs welcome Coastal Carolina.
The Southern Conference Tournament will begin on May 23 in Greenville, South Carolina.
