SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel right hander Devin Beckley was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Beckley was honored after tossing a complete-game three-hit shutout against Saint Peter's on Friday. He allowed just one base hit through the first 7.2 innings, and finished with eight strikeouts. He used three double plays to help in not allowing a base runner to reach third base.
 
On the season, Beckley is 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA. He allowed just 11 hits and struck out 28 in 26.1 innings.
