Triplett Announces 2026 The Citadel Baseball Slate

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel baseball program released the program's 2026 schedule, featuring 26 home games at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, including matchups against in-state rivals Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson and College of Charleston. 

The Citadel will face five teams that made the 2025 NCAA tournament: Florida State, Clemson, ETSU, Georgia and Coastal Carolina, the national runner-up.

The Bulldogs will start the season on Feb. 13-15 with a three-game home series against Liberty. After the opening weekend, The Citadel will host Marshall for two games on Feb. 20-21 and Army on Feb. 22. The Bulldogs head to Tallahassee, Fla., for a weekend series against Florida State on Feb. 27–Mar 1.

March features several highlight matchups as well, opening with a midweek game against Georgia Southern on March 4, followed by a three-game series on the road at Kentucky from March 6-8. The Citadel hosts a midweek game against the Gamecocks on March 10 before trekking west to UT-Martin for a three-game road series on Mar. 13-15.  

The Bulldogs will battle a third SEC opponent on the road in Athens, Ga., against Georgia on March 17, and then return to Joe Riley Park to host the Clemson Tigers on March 18.

The Citadel opens Southern Conference play at Mercer from March 20-22. The Bulldogs will host nine consecutive games at Riley Park after returning to Charleston, facing Presbyterian on March 25, Western Carolina from March 27-29, and then hosting a midweek game against Coastal Carolina on March 31.

The Citadel departs from league play for a brief four-game stint, hosting Longwood from April 2-4 in a weekend series followed by a game against local rival Charleston Southern on April 7.

The rest of April includes a midweek game at Winthrop on April 8, an away SoCon series at Wofford on April 10-12, and a road clash against Charleston Southern on April 14. The Bulldogs will set their sights to upset 2024 SoCon champion ETSU from April 17-19 in a key road series, followed by a trip to Statesboro, Ga., to face Georgia Southern on April 22.

The Citadel concludes April with a home SoCon series against UNCG on April 24-26, a midweek against South Carolina in Columbia on April 28 and a home game against the College of Charleston at Joe Riley Park on April 29.

May marks the final month of the regular season, beginning with a three-game series against Presbyterian. The series features an away game on May 1, a return to Riley Park on May 2, and another game at Presbyterian on May 3. The Citadel will host Samford from May 8-10, then travel to Conway, S.C., to face Coastal Carolina on May 12. The Citadel concludes the regular season with a SoCon series on the road at VMI from May 14 to 16.

The 2026 Southern Conference Tournament is scheduled for May 19–23 in Greenville, S.C.
