CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team dropped Southern Conference home opener with a 7-0 loss to Samford Monday afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.

In the No. 6 singles spot, Andrew Darby forced a third set after rebounding from a 6-4 loss in the opening set to take the second set 6-4. Darby would eventually fall in a third-set tiebreak.
Hayden Shoemake dropped a tough first set and battled his way into a tiebreak in the second set.
Josiah Schainblatt dropped the first set before coming back to take the second set in a tiebreak.
