KEY PLAYS & STATS
- Wofford managed to get on the board first following a sequence of Bulldog errors to start the game, swiping back-to-back takeaways on the opening two drives for The Citadel; the initial opportunity resulted in a missed 43-yard field goal while the second bolstered the Terriers to a lead they would never surrender, punching in a touchdown on a one-yard run from Kyle Parson followed by a two-point conversion rush from Ryan Ingram.
- Following the two turnovers, the Bulldogs fought their way down the field on a 16-play, 68-yard drive to inside the Wofford 10-yard line, eventually settling for a Colby Kintner field goal to close the gap down to 8-3 with 11:59 left in the second.
- The Citadel offense proceeded to stall for nearly the remainder of the contest, never crossing the 50-yard line until the team's final two drives of the game. Graeson Underwood and the passing attack came alive during the last pair of sequences, generating 85 total yards on six completions as The Citadel battled to the 20- and 29-yard lines before a fumble and interception, respectively, cut the potentially game-tying drives short.
- Hi'keem Elmore impressed in the Bulldog backfield, earning a team season-high 26 carries for a total 100 yards on the day; notably, Elmore's 100 yards on the ground represents just the second 100-plus individual rushing performance this season with Cooper Wallace owning the first behind a 113-yard showing in the opener against Georgia Southern.
- During the first of the two final drives for the Bulldogs, Patrick McSweeney almost single-handedly elevated the offense, pulling down four consecutive catches for a total 57 yards -- a season-best for the graduate student -- to carry The Citadel into a threatening position on the Terriers' side of the 50-yard line.
- Defensively, Jamond DuBose led the way with seven tackles, six of which came solo, while Carson Walter tacked on six tackles of his own. The Bulldogs generated a two tackles-for-loss on the game with one sack as well.
