
Hehmeyer and Jackson Break School Records at USC Indoor Open

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams set two school records and had seven top-ten performances at the USC Indoor Open on Friday afternoon.

- Blythe Hehmeyer broke her school record in the pole vault with a PR leap of 11-7.75 to finish in second place.
- Mecca Jackson broke the school record in the 200m with a PR time of 25.04 to finish in sixth. Jodi Whittle previously held the record with a time of 25.54 set in 2006.
- Heidi Fortin won the mile with a PR time of 5:14.53 to earn the second fastest in school history.
- Tatiana Corso was third overall in the shot put with a PR toss of 40-4.75 to earn the fifth spot in school history.
- Zeniyah Lawrence ran a PR time of 25.87 in the 200m to earn the fourth-fastest time in program history.
- Cyla Byrd ran a PR of 26.28 in the 200m to earn the seventh spot all-time.
- Emily Hickey finished in fifth place in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6.
- Emma Cunningham was seventh overall in the mile with a PR time of 5:34.54.
On the Men's Side
- Will Ray won the 3K with a personal record of 9:02.58.
- Robert Perrecone finished in second place behind Ray with a PR time of 9:02.94.
- Aidan Richter was the second overall finisher in the 1K with a PR time of 2:34.42, earning him the fifth spot all-time.
- Brent Forrest finished in third place in the pole vault with a leap of 13-11.25.
- Stephen Kraeling was third by clearing 6-4.75 in the high jump.
- Prince Moody finished fourth place in the high jump by leaping 6-2.75.
- Solomon Ghosh was ninth overall in the shot put with 44-2.5, tying his personal record. Ghosh also finished with a PR in the weight throw with a toss of 48-2.75
