Hehmeyer Breaks Pole Vault Record

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel pole vaulter Blythe Hehmeyer broke the school's record in the pole vault on Friday afternoon on day one at the Weems Baskin Invitational.

- Blythe Hehmeyer finished in first place and broke the school's outdoor pole vault record by clearing 11-9.75, breaking Emily Hickey's record of 11-7.75 set in 2022.
- The 4x300m team of Mecca Jackson, Zeniyah Lawrence, Leah Murray, and Cyla Byrd ran 2:50.39 to break the school record of 2:55.81 to take fourth overall.
- Mecca Jackson won the open 400m with a PR time of 57.67 to earn the seventh spot all-time.
- Emma Cunningham was fourth in the steeple run with 12:41.11 to earn the #6 spot in school history.
- Emily Hickey finished in the seventh spot in the pole vault with 10-6.
- Ali Ruffin earned seventh in the javelin with a toss of 117-3.
- Zeniyah Lawrence ran 12.49 in the 100m to earn the ninth spot in school history.
- The 4x800 of Gabby Shea, Jay Mitchell, Kennedy DeLancy, and Brianna Arguello took seventh with 10:50.99 to earn the tenth spot in school history.
On the Men's Side
- The 4x300 of Kane Duncan, Treonte Newton, Luke Segee, and Prince Moody took third overall with 2:25.49 and earned third in school history.
- The 4x800 of Bryce Baglia, Andrew Smith, Sam Sharnas, and Aidan Richter finished in seventh with a time of 7:59.33.
- Caleb McDonald earned the ninth spot in the javelin with a toss of 161-7.
- Ty Duben set a PR in the 5k with a time of 15:32.83.
