Bulldogs Strike Out 15 Tuesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seven pitchers combined to strike out 15 hitters Tuesday evening as The Citadel fell 8-1 to No. 20 South Carolina at Founders Park.

How it Happened
  • The Gamecocks got on the board in the second inning on solo home runs from Ethan Petry and Will McGillis.
  • The Bulldogs answered back in the fourth as Noah Mitchell doubled into left center and scored on a Travis Elliott double to right.
  • SC extended the lead in the sixth as a passed ball allowed one run to score before Cole Messina doubled in a run and scored on a Petry infield single.
  • Gavin Casas added to the lead with a two- homer in the eighth, and Jonathan French added another solo homer in the ninth.
