Relay Team Breaks School Record

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Citadel track and field teams wrapped up the weekend at the Bill Carson Invitational, with the women's 4x100 relay team breaking the school record on Saturday afternoon.

On the Women's Side
  • The 4x100m relay team of Leah Murray, Mecca Jackson, Cyla Byrd, and Zeniyah Lawrence broke the school record at 47.37. Breaking the old record set in 2021 with a time of 47.67.
  • Gabby Shea took second in the 800m run with 2:22.05.
  • Mecca Jackson earned a fifth-place finish in the 200m with 24.40 and a seventh-place finish with a time of 12.09 in the 100m.
  • Blythe Hehmeyer and Emily Hickey finished back-to-back in the pole vault. Hehmeyer earned fourth by clearing 11-05.75, and Hickey in fifth by clearing 10-11.75.
  • Sadie Grove threw 113-10 in the javelin, finishing in fifth.
  • Emma Cunningham competed in the 1500m run, earning a sixth-place finish with a time of 5:18.70. She also placed seventh with a time of 2:36.40 in the 800m
  • Kennedy DeLancy ran 3:00.98 in the 800m, finishing in ninth overall.
 
On the Men's Side
  • Andrew Smith took the top spot in the 800m with a time of 1:54.00. Smith also competed in the 1500m, earning sixth with a time of 4:06.91.
  • The 4x400m relay team placed second overall with a time of 3:29.21.
  • Owen Sharnas competed in the 5000m run, finishing in third with 15:52.14.
  • Ty Duben achieved a top-ten finish in the 5000m by placing fourth overall with a time of 15:56.95.
  • Jack Mulvey placed fourth overall in the high jump by leaping 5-10.75.
  • Prince Moody leaped 5-08.75 in the high jump, earning seventh.
  • Treonte Newton earned eighth in the 200m with a time of 22.28 and tenth in the 400m with a time of 50.71.
  • Kane Duncan placed sixth in the 400m by finishing with a time of 49.37. Duncan also finished behind Newton in the 200m by earning ninth with 22.34.
  • Tereis Drayton and Solomon Ghosh competed in the shot put, earning eighth and ninth overall. Drayton finished in eighth with a put of 41-11.50, and Ghosh earned ninth with a put of 41-09.75.
