
Track and Field Post-Strong Results on Day One

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams posted multiple top-ten finishes and two first places finish on day one of the Catamount Challenge on Friday afternoon.

On the Women's Side
- Mecca Jackson posted two top-ten finishes in the 100m prelims and the 200m. Jackson finished in the top spot in the 200m with a time of 24.32. She qualified for tomorrow's final in the 100m with her time of 12.14 to earn fourth.
- Heidi Fortin secured the number-one spot in the 5000m with a time of 17:56.16.
- Blythe Hehmeyer cleared 11-8 in the pole vault to earn second overall.
- Ali Ruffin and Sadie Grove finished back-to-back in the javelin. Ruffin earned third with a throw of 123-1, and Grove finished fourth with a toss of 115-02.
- Zeniyah Lawrence qualified for the 100m finals by posting a time of 12.34 in the prelims to earn sixth.
- Leah Murray finished ninth in the 100m prelims with a time of 12.38.
- Cyla Byrd ran 25.55 in the 200m to finish tenth overall.
On the Men's Side
- Reggie Reynolds tossed 161-05 in the hammer throw to place third.
- Solomon Ghosh earned seventh overall in the hammer with a throw of 147-11.
- Four Bulldogs placed in the top ten in the javelin.
- Caleb McDonald and Briggs Rehome finished in the four and five spots in the Javelin.
- Ian McCorkle and Fred Hamilton took the last two spots in the javelin finishing in ninth and tenth. Â
- Owen Sharnas earned tenth overall in the 5000m with a time of 15:21.27.
