Bulldogs Hit the Road to take on NC State

GAME NOTES

RALEIGH, N.C. -
The Citadel plays its final non-conference road series of the season s the Bulldogs travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to face NC State on April 28-30. The series is set to get underway at 6 p.m. Friday evening, and continue with a 4 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.

vs. NC State
The Citadel and NC State have met 42 times prior with the Wolfpack holding a 31-11 advantage in the all-time series. The teams have not met since 2008.


Last Meeting vs. NC State
The Bulldogs scored lone runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to pull within a run, but ultimately fell, 4-3, to the Wolfpack inside Riley Park on March 2, 2008.


Regional Play vs. Wolfpack
The Citadel opened its 1990 Omaha run on May 25 against NC State in Coral Gables, Florida. Billy Baker drove in four runs with a home and a double, and current head coach Tony Skole added a pair of RBIs ad the Bulldogs came away with an 11-3 victory. Ken Britt threw 8.0 strong innings to pick up the victory and improve to 10-1 on the season.


Welcome to North Carolina
The Citadel baseball schedule featured four weekend road trips on the season. Of those four, three found them traveling to the state of North Carolina. The Bulldogs have already spent a weekend in Greensboro, and will head to Cullowhee in a couple weeks.


Sawyer Goes Leaoff Jack Again
Sawyer Reeves hit his second leadoff home run of the season against Charleston Southern as part of a four-hit game. He becames the first Bulldog since Austin Mapes in 2015 to have multiple leadoff home runs in a season.


Mr. 100
Noah Mitchell drove in a run against Charleston Southern for his 100th career RBI. He has 32 RBIs so far this season, after driving in 40 a season ago.


On Deck
The Bulldogs head to North Charleston for the second-straight midweek game as they take on Charleston Southern on May 3 at 5 p.m.
