SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Solomon Ghosh has been named the Southern Conference Male Most Outstanding Field Performer, as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
 
Ghosh has become the first Bulldog to receive the title of Most Outstanding Field Performer. He is now in the company of Malik Diggs and Curtis Hardy, both acknowledged by the conference office for their exceptional performances. Diggs was recognized as the Most Outstanding Track Performer in 2017 and 2018, while Hardy received the title of Most Outstanding Athlete in 1985.
 
Following a remarkable outdoor season, Ghosh achieved numerous top-ten finishes and shattered several school records, including number one in the discus. He received three field Athletes of the Week awards and was named the field Athlete of the Month.
 
The native from Blacksburg, Va., finished the outdoor season as the discus champion, throwing 174-09 to capture back-to-back titles.
