CHARLESTON, S.C. – Former Bulldog Ryan McCarthy has signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox and has been assigned to the Single-A affiliate, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.
 
McCarthy has been playing with the Great Falls Voyagers in the Pioneer League. In 22 games with the Voyagers, he batted .372 with six home runs on 32 hits and 25 RBIs.
 
Before joining the Voyagers, McCarthy played in the MLB Draft League. The league served as a showcase for the top draft-eligible prospects.
 
The native from Cumming, Ga., started 208 games for the Bulldogs, batting .282 on 221 hits with 26 home runs, 128 RBIs, and 52 stolen bases from 2018-22.
 
McCarthy earned Second-team All-Southern Conference following the 2021 season and was named to the Preseason First-team All-Southern Conference for the 2022 season.
