- Maddy Cardenas gave the Bulldogs the lead with a kill to make it 11-10.
- A kill from the Eagles would tie the set at 16-16, but the Bulldogs would dominate the rest, going on a 9-0 run to end the set.
- Three kills from Ali Ruffin and a kill from Cardenas gave The Citadel a 5-1 lead to start set 2.
