LAST MATCH:
  • The Bulldogs suffered their second heart breaking tie of the season as North Dakota State scored the tying goal in the 86th minute on Sunday to escape Charleston with a 1-1 draw.
ASHE AT A GLANCE
  • The Bulldogs enter this week on a four-match win streak (4-1), the best start in program history since 2015, after defeating a pair of SoCon foes in Wofford (1-0) and Furman (2-1) last week.
  • Sophomore defender Shae Hassig was named the Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping Asheville secure their third straight shutout and scoring the game-winning-goal against Furman.
UPSTATE ON AN UPTICK
  • The Spartans enter this matchup after a 1-0-1-week besting VMI on Sunday 4-2 and tying with Furman 1-1 to improve their mark to 2-1-2.
  • USC Upstate averages 2.20 goals per game and has three different players with two goals apiece.
BULLDOGS BIO
  • Ariana Paez's assist in Sunday's 1-1 tie gave her a team-leading seventh point.
  • Nora Sampson has started all five matches in goal for The Citadel, registering a .818 save percentage and a 0.80 goals-against average after making six saves against NDSU.
  • This is just The Citadel's second true road match of the season as they opened the year with a neutral site match, before drawing with Winthrop (8/20/23) and having last week's SC State match postponed.
  • The offense averages five more shots per game than their opponents (14.0-9.0) while the defensive has allowed only four goals in five matches thus far.
