SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Clemson is coming off an 11-15 record during the 2022-23 campaign.
- The Tigers have a new leader at the helm as Head Coach Brandon Wagner is in his first season in Death Valley.
- The squad is highlighted by senior Ryuhei Azuma who was 16-12 in singles matches a season ago and 12-9 in doubles play.
SCOUTING THE 49ers
- Charlotte enters looking to improve on a 9-14 mark from the 2022-23 season.
- Head Coach Kyle Bailey is in his fifth season as the head man, after spending three years as the associate head coach at the University of South Carolina, earning the 2018 ITA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year award.
- The 49ers have used the transfer portal by adding Alex Richards from Wichita State where he recorded an overall record of 42-31 in doubles competition, including 29 wins at the No. 1 slot.
EXPERIENCED BULLDOGS
- The Citadel comes in off a 10-23 mark from a year ago when it received an invite to the NIT Championships.
- Senior Hayden Shoemake looks to improve off a 15-15 singles mark from 2022-23 where he more than held his own at the top singles flight.
- Fellow senior, Sebastian Kamieniecki will try to expand on the important role he played last season, as he earned a 11-5 mark at 4-singles while he also combined with Shoemake to go 12-9 at 2-doubles.
- Head Coach Chuck Kriese tapped into the transfer portal himself, adding graduate student Teo Cariov from Presbyterian as he won eight doubles matches for the Big South Tournament and Co-Regular Season Champion Blue Hose, while also going 6-3 in singles in 2021-22 with five wins coming a 1-singles.
