COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel's men's and women's teams had a productive day one at the Carolina Challenge.

- Alex Wulfhorst earns the top spot in the 5K with a time of 16:09.37.
- Jordan Chestnut finished fifth in the triple jump with 45-0.5. Campbell placed eighth overall in the long jump with a leap of 21-03.25.
- Jared Campbell finished sixth with a time of 2:37.71 in the 1K.
- William Owens, in his first college track meet, finished in eighth place in the shot put with a toss of 40-06.00.
- Jack Weil threw 39-11.50 to finish in eighth in the shot put.
- Demetrius Shine qualified for the semifinals in the 60m prelims with a time of 7.02 and ran a 7.02 in the semifinals.
- Treonte Newton ran 35.69 in the 300m to earn the sixth spot in the all-time list.
On the Women's Side
- Karmen Williams finished in the one spot in the weight throw with a toss of 51-07.00, earning Williams the fourth spot in program history.
- Williams threw 38-11.75 in the shot put to place second and earned the seventh spot all-time.
- Emily Danielsson earned second in the weight throw with a toss of 46-05.50, which places her tenth all-time in the record books.
- Gabby Shea finished eighth overall in the 1K with a time of 3:12.56 to earn the fourth spot.
- Cyla Byrd ran 7.91 in the 60m prelims to earn a spot in the semifinals. She ran a 7.88 in the semifinals to finish in 20th.
- Byrd ran a 43.22 in the 300m dash to earn the ninth spot all-time in program history.
- Maret Elgren placed ninth in the 3000m run at 10:53 and earned the eighth spot.
