CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team played a stellar defensive match, holding the UNC Greensboro Spartans to seven total shots, including just three on frame, as they earned a point in a 0-0 draw on Thursday afternoon from the Parade Deck.
The point was the Bulldogs first-ever in program history versus the Spartans as they were 0-23 all-time entering today, dating back to the inaugural season in 2001.
How It Happened:
40' – CIT goalkeeper
Zoe Santos cut down the angle to turn away Claire Esse with a kick save inside the 6'.
71' – UNCG appeared to score the first goal of the match, but the play was called off due to a Spartans' offsides.
86' – The Spartans threatened late with a corner kick opportunity, but Santos secured the header to secure the 0-0 draw.

- The Bulldogs utilized a deep bench, using seven subs in the match.
- The Citadel kept the Spartans off the board after being outscored 11-1 in the previous three matches.
- Freshman Adrianna Gill played her first full 90 in her 13th start of the season while graduate student Eryn Tufts earned the same distinction for the fourth consecutive match and seventh time this season.
