Bulldogs Win a Five-Set Thriller Against Wofford

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team won an exciting five-set match (24-26, 26-24, 19-25, 27-25, 15-9) against the Wofford Terriers inside McAlister Field House on Saturday night.

  • Wofford won the first set at 26-24 to take a 1-0 lead to start the match.
  • Wofford had a 14-11 lead over the Bulldogs in the second set, but a 6-0 scoring run sparked by a Peri Hoshock kill gave the Bulldogs the lead at 17-14.
  • A kill from Mackenzie Martin and two kills from Ali Ruffin gave the Bulldogs the late lead at 23-21.
  • Wofford took the lead at 24-23, but consecutive Terrier errors gave the Bulldogs a 26-24 victory in set two.
