SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel's
Jaelynn Elgert was honored as the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This honor marks the third time that Elgert has been named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week as a Bulldog and it is her first accolade for this season.
The native from Peoria, Arizona, recorded 45 digs, averaging 5.00 per set. Elgert posted 22 digs against UNCG and 23 digs against Wofford.
She currently ranks fifth in the SoCon with 236 digs, averaging 4.29 per set.
Elgert and the Bulldogs will be away for two road conference matches against ETSU (Oct. 10) and Chattanooga (Oct. 11).
