Bulldogs Host Mocs on Saturday for Ingles SoCon Game of the Week

- Keynan Davis' layup and one put CIT up 13-10 just over four minutes into the ballgame.
- UTC tied the game at 17-17 before a corner three had the Mocs ahead 23-19 halfway through the opening stanza.
- After a fastbreak layup, another UTC 3-ball pushed the edge to double-digits, 32-21, forcing CIT to talk things over.
- Five straight points by the Bulldogs, including a Smith long ball, cut the margin to six, 32-26, at the 5:40 mark.
- A UTC layup momentarily nudged the difference back to double-digits with 33 seconds left but a Davis layup with two ticks remaining had CIT trailing by nine, 45-36, at the intermission.
- The Mocs started the second half with a quick 6-0 run to earn their biggest lead of the game to that point, 15, causing the Bulldogs to call a quick timeout 1:20 into the half, down 51-36.
- UTC's eighth 3-pointer of the game extended the margin to over 20, 66-45, at the 13:33 mark.
- Another Mocs three followed by a dunk ballooned the score to 79-52 at the under-8 media timeout as UTC sailed to a 90-62 victory.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
- With a win, The Citadel would defeat Chatt at home in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1979-80.
- With a loss, the Bulldogs would be swept in the season series by The Mocs for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.
CLEANING THE GLASS
- With his seven defensive boards at Mercer, Quentin Millora-Brown set the single-season program mark for defensive rebounds in a season. He currently has 172.
- The big man also recorded his 13th double-double of the season, tying him for 16th in all of Division I.
SENSATIONAL SMITH
- AJ Smith has netted at least 17 points in each of the Bulldogs last four games (20.8 ppg).
- In league play, the sophomore is fifth in scoring at 16.6 ppg.
FROM THE LINE
- Morgan ranks second in the conference in free throw percentage during league play at 88.6% (39-of-44).
- Smith is eighth (80.0%) while Madison Durr sits at 14th (73.3%).
OPPONENT PLAYER TO WATCH
- #3 Honor Huff ranks third in SoCon play in scoring (18.2 ppg), seventh in steals (1.8 spg) and ninth in three-point percentage (40.8%)
- In the first meeting in Chattanooga, he paced the Mocs with 19 points, as he went 4-of-6 from three, adding three steals.
