Lott Homers Twice, Bulldogs Take the Series Against the Zips

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Travis Lott homered twice and recorded his 100th career RBI as the Bulldogs take the series against the Zips, 12-11, inside Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

How it Happened
  • Phillips Daniels got the Bulldogs on the board with a bases-loaded hit by a pitch that scored Rollauer in the first inning.
  • An RBI single for Sawyer Reeves put the Bulldogs up 2-0 in the bottom of the second.
  • Travis Lott recorded a sac-fly RBI that scored Reeves.
  • Anthony Hausner and Javier Crespo got into the action with an RBI double and single, making it 5-0 Bulldogs to end the second inning.
  • Wells Sykes singled past third and short and drove in Travis Elliott.
  • The Citadel jumped to an 8-0 lead in the fourth with two doubles from Lott and Hausner.
  • Akron recorded five runs in the fifth inning to make it 8-5 with the help of a double, single, and sac-fly.
  • Reeves doubled to right center field and scored Matthew Lively.
  • The Citadel recorded two more runs: a Lott home run and a Phillips Daniels sac-fly RBI.
  • Lott recorded his second home run of the game on the first pitch of his at-bat to make it 12-5 Bulldogs.
  • The Zips put up a six spot in the top of the ninth inning, making it 12-11 Bulldogs. Jack Thunberg struck out the last batter with the bases loaded.
