LEXINGTON, VA. – Karmen Williams finished with the bronze in the shot put on day one of the 2024 Southern Conference Indoor Championships.

Karmen Williams earned all-conference honors after finishing in third place in the shot put with a toss of 42-1.
 
After day one, Jack Scott and Jordan Chestnut were selected to the Men's All-Freshman teams.
 
On the Women's Side

• Cyla Byrd finished in sixth place in the 60m prelims with a time of 7.70 to qualify for the finals.
• Byrd also finished with a qualifying time 25.28 in the 200m prelims.
• Darrian Cole placed tenth in the 3000m run at 11:59.55.

 
On the Men's Side

• Bradlee Jones finished in second place in the 60m prelims with a time of 6.80 to qualify for the finals.
• Dylan Thompson qualified for finals in the 200m prelims with a time of 22.40.
• Jack Scott placed eighth in the pole vault by clearing 13-6.
