The Citadel Track & Field Begins Spring Campaign at Mondo College Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams will open the spring portion of the indoor season Saturday, Jan. 17, competing at the Mondo College Invitational at JDL Fast Track.

In the field events, the men's team will be led by Langston Bailey in the long jump, while Trey Bartels and Jack O'Cain compete in the pole vault. Jaxon Brewer and Jordan Chestnut are entered in both the high jump and triple jump, joined by AJ Kut in the triple jump.On the women's side, Liliana Coe will compete in the pole vault and triple jump, with Grier Murphy entered in the long jump and triple jump. The throws group will feature strong representation from both squads, with Daniel Dounian, Brett Cobb, Dylan Horne, William Owens, and Jack Weil competing in the men's shot put, while Sam Barnes, Jadan Dean, Sadie Grove, Morgan Mankoski, and Rachel Reininger represent the women. Ridge Dowe and Frank Pastorino will compete in the men's weight throw, while Ainsley Dowling and Megan Stone are entered on the women's side.

On the track, The Citadel will be active in the short sprints, with Lucas Johnson, Colin Reyes, Demetrius Shine, Dylan Thompson, and Corey Tillman Jr. competing for the men, while Alliann Johnson, Cameron Martin, Kaihlah McQueen, DeMarie Washington, and Danielle Williams represent the women in the 60-meter and 200-meter events. In the 400 meters, Noah Casa, Olin Korey, Kyan Sapko, and Cooper Watson are slated for the men, while Martin, McQueen, Washington, and Williams will run for the women.

Middle-distance events will see Brett Cobb, Ryder Harbaugh, and Jack Wallace competing for the men in the 600 and 1,000 meters, while the women's entries include Aubrey Gorin, Brylee Deering, Caroline McClelland, Abigail Thiessen, and Caroline Plummer. Relay action will feature both squads in the 4x800 and 4x400, with the men's team entered in both relays and the women's team also slated to compete in each.
