Bulldogs Fall in Midweek Against Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel falls in a mid-week game with a 7-1 defeat against #21 South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon inside Founders Park

How It Happened
  • South Carolina scored two runs on two singles in the bottom of the first inning.
  • A wild pitch allowed the Gamecocks to score one run to make it 3-0 in the second.
  • The Gamecocks extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single from Cole Messina.
  • Parker Noland drove in a run with a sac-fly RBI to make it 5-0.
  • The Citadel scored their first run of the game with an RBI single from Wells Sykes, who drove in Matthew Lively after he hit a stand-up double to lead off the inning.
  • South Carolina answered back with a ground-out RBI from Messina.
