Weekend Baseball
The Citadel and USC Upstate meet for a three-game series starting April 12-14. The first pitch for the series opener will be at 6 p.m., followed by a Saturday start at 2 p.m., and the series finale at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs and the Spartans have met 24 times prior, with UPST holding a 17-7 advantage in the all-time series. The Spartans won last season's meeting in Spartanburg, 25-10. UPST has won five straight games against The Citadel.

The Spartans are 22-12 overall and 10-2 in Big South play, with a recent sweep over conference opponent the Winthrop Eagles and a midweek victory over No. 2 Clemson, 9-5.

Jace Rinehart leads the team with a .386 batting average, 54 hits, tied with ten home runs, and is fourth with 35 RBIs.
 
The Spartans' pitching staff has bolstered a team ERA of 5.74 on 293.0 innings pitched. The Spartans have given up 298 hits and allowed 187 earned runs with 302 strikeouts.
 
 
vs. Big South
The Citadel is 3-2 on the season against Big South teams, with three wins against Charleston Southern and two losses against Winthrop. The Bulldogs will face USC Upstate this weekend, Presbyterian College on May 10-12, and the series finale against Charleston Southern on May 14.
 
Bulldogs Defense
The Bulldogs defense ranks as one of the best in the country with a .980 fielding percentage, which ranks 16th in the country and second in the conference behind Mercer.

Wells Sykes is tied for tenth in the country with four triples and ranks second in the SoCon.
