- The Bulldogs scored in the bottom of the fourth on a Garrett Dill RBI single over the shortstop, scoring Anthony Hausner from third.
- Travis Elliott narrowed the Spartans lead to just one at 3-2 with an RBI fielder's choice, scoring Wells Sykes.
- The Spartans added four runs on back-to-back triples from Grant Sherrod and Jace Rinehart to extend their lead to 7-2 in the top of the eighth.
