CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team will kick off Southern Conference match play inside McAlister Field House against Western Carolina (6-7) on September 25 at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs will also unveil their 2023 Southern Conference Regular Season Banner before the match.

Notes on the Bulldogs
- The Citadel posted a 3-0 record at the Jacksonville Invitational with two straight-set sweeps over Jacksonville, Bethune-Cookman, and a 3-1 victory over Columbia.
- Ali Ruffin was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week after her impressive performance at the Jacksonville Invitational. She recorded 38 kills, averaging 3.80 per set with a .244 attack percentage with two double-doubles.
- Mackenzie Martin recorded her 1,000th career dig while playing at The Citadel and Tulane.
- The Bulldogs will unveil their 2023 Southern Conference Regular Season Championship banner before the match.
Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts are 6-7 overall heading into conference play. Western Carolina is on the road for one match before returning to Cullowhee to face the Mercer Bears. Offensively, Bailey Hartsough leads Catamounts with 148 kills, averaging 3.22 per set. She also leads the team with 179 digs. Janelle Blue leads the team and the Southern Conference with 63.0 total blocks. The Bulldogs and the Catamounts were 1-1 against each other last season.
