CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team is set to host the Mercer Bears (10-3) on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside McAlister Field House.

Notes on the Bulldogs

• The Citadel heads into the weekend with a 6-6 overall and 0-1 conference record. The Bulldogs dropped a thrilling five-set match against Western Carolina that came down to the wire.
• The Bulldogs set multiple team and individual career highs against the Catamounts. Ali Ruffin posted a career-high in digs with 34, Sophie Childs set a career-high in kills with 21, and Belle Hogan posted 62 assists, which bested her previous best at 60.
• The Citadel and Western Carolina combined for 84 points in the fourth set. The Citadel's 43 points is a program record tied for fifth all-time in the NCAA modern 25-point set era.
• The Bulldogs celebrated raising the 2023 Southern Conference regular season championship banner before the match against the Catamounts  

 
Scouting Mercer
The Bears are 10-3 overall and will be opening up their conference schedule with the Bulldogs. Mercer's match against Western Carolina on Friday was rescheduled to the weather. Offensively, the Bears are led by Syke Ekes with 177 kills. Defensively, MeMe Davis leads the Bears with 208 digs and Skyler Bumpers with 36.0 total blocks. The Citadel went 2-0 against the Bears last season.
