The Citadel begins its road matches in the Southern Conference with a matchup against the Furman Paladins on Oct. 3 at 6 pm, followed by a match against the Mercer Bears on Oct. 4 at 7:30 pm.

The Paladins have an overall record of 11-3 and are 2-0 in the SoCon this season, with recent wins against conference opponents UNCG and Samford. Furman will play Mercer on Oct. 2 before facing the Bulldogs. Tennyson Gorman leads Furman in kills with 149, averaging 2.81 per set. She is first in the SoCon in total blocks with 68 and seventh in total kills.

Scouting Mercer
The Bears have an overall record of 4-11 and are 0-2 in the SoCon this season. Mercer started conference play with losses to ETSU and Chattanooga. Mercer will face Furman on Oct. 2 before playing The Citadel. Sophia Henry leads the Bears in kills with 137, averaging 2.91 per set. Aubri Martin leads Mercer in digs with 219, averaging 4.29 per set. She ranks third in the conference in total digs.

The Paladins lead the series 43-10 over The Citadel. Last year's matchups were split, with each team winning at home. Mercer holds a 20-6 lead in the all-time series, with the Bears winning both matches against The Citadel last season.
