The Citadel Welcomes Mercer for Final Wednesday Home Game

LAST TIME OUT at WCU (2.15.25)

WCU began the half with a 17-6 stretch to go ahead 47-41 six and change into the second session.
The teams traded buckets for the next five minutes before six straight Catamount points stretched the difference to 10, 64-54, with 6:13 remaining.
Five quick points from Moore, including a 5-for-5 stretch from the line by the Bulldogs as a team cut the deficit to two, 68-66, with 3:33 left.
WCU lead 72-70 and The Citadel missed a 3-pointer but an off-ball foul led to a Bulldogs 1-and-1, which they made just the front end of, to trail by one with a minute remaining.
On the ensuing possession, WCU missed a floater in the paint but the tip-in was good to nudge the margin back to three, 74-71, with 38 ticks left.
The Citadel took a timeout in the front court before Paxton Davidson's scoop layup with 20 seconds left cut the deficit back to one, 74-73.
The Bulldogs tried to trap and had to foul as the Catamounts made both from the line.
Fox drove to the basket, but his attempt was blocked out of bounds as The Citadel had one more chance with eight seconds remaining.
Moore missed a contested corner three as the ball laid loose on the floor, it was tipped to Glover whose opposite corner three at the buzzer was good and ruled live to have gotten off in time.
The officials would review the play and deemed that Glover released the ball a fraction of a second after the clock hit zeroes as The Citadel fell 76-73.

FIRST TIME AROUND (1.29.25)

A wing three by Davidson made it a one-point affair, 13-12 Mercer, at the 10:31 mark.
Second chance opportunities helped Mercer put together a 10-0 run to stretch the margin to 25-14 with 4:33 remaining in the first half.
Colby McAllister hit a turnaround floater in the paint, but the Bears answered with a pair of triples to extend the differential to 31-16 on their way to a 34-18 advantage at the break.
Cam Glover hit a 3-ball two and half minutes into the second stanza, 38-23 Mercer.
A Bears' jumper extended the margin to 20, 55-35, at the 9:27 mark.
A layup by Mercer with less than five minutes to go gave the Bears their largest lead of the game to that point, 69-40, on its way to the home victory.

BRODY IS BALLING

Fox has double-digit point performances in 13-of-14 league games this season, after scoring 23 at Western Carolina on Saturday.
He leads the team in scoring on the season at 16.4 ppg while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor.

MOORE PLEASE

Christian Moore scored a season-high 20 points on Saturday and is averaging 12.1 ppg in conference play on 37.1% shooting from beyond the arc.
Fox and Moore were the first pair of Bulldogs to score at least 20 points in a game since Morgan and Smith did it versus Furman on January 31st, 2024.
He has scored at least 15 points in five straight games.

If The Citadel beats Mercer, it would be the second straight home win in the series for the Bulldogs, 68-66 on 1/24/24.
If the Bulldogs lose, the Bears would improve their winning streak over The Citadel to four.
