Bulldogs Falls to the Black Bears

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel fell to the Maine Black Bears 4-2 on Friday afternoon in game one of a three-game series inside Joe Riley Park.

How It Happened
  • Maine scored the first run of the game in the third inning with a solo home run from Chris Bear.
  • The Bulldogs answered back in the bottom of the third with an RBI single from Noah Cadiz, scoring TJ Anderson to even it at 1-1.
  • Maine scored three runs in the top of the fifth from an RBI double and a two-run home run to put the Black Bears up three runs at 4-1.
  • Matthew Lively scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning to narrow the lead to 4-2, but the Black Bears pitching staff held it down to take game one at 4-2.

  • Thomas Rollauer led the Bulldogs with two hits.
  • Noah Cadiz drove in the only run for The Citadel for his first career RBI.
  • Robbie Lane drew three walks at the plate.
  • Colin Fitzgerald (1-1) picked up the win for the Black Bears after throwing 4.0 innings with five strikeouts and one earned run.
