CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel and Maine were tied heading into the ninth inning, but the Black Bears scored four runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Bulldogs, 6-2, on Saturday afternoon.
Yates Bland recorded a career-high five strikeouts.

How It Happened
- Matthew Lively kicked things off for the Bulldogs with an RBI triple to left center, scoring Phillips Daniels to make it a 1-0 game in the third inning.
- The Black Bears responded in the third with an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Chris Bear to even the game at 1-1.
- Maine took the lead in the fourth from an RBI single through the right side to make it 2-1.
- Late life came from The Citadel as TJ Anderson hit an RBI single through the right side, which scored Matthew Lively to tie the game at 2-2 in the seventh inning.
- Maine scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning from a wild pitch that scored one, a 2-RBI single, and an RBI double to make it 6-2.
- The Bulldogs went three up, three down in the bottom of the ninth to end the game at 6-2.
