Baseball Set for Midweek Against Presbyterian

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel baseball team is set to host their first midweek game of the 2025 season against the Presbyterian Blue Hose (4-3) on Tuesday afternoon inside Joe Riley Park.

Midweek Baseball Down at The Joe
The Citadel plays its first-midweek game of the season against the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Feb. 25. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.

Vs. Presbyterian
The Citadel and Presbyterian will meet for the 34th time in both program's history. The Bulldogs hold the series record over the Blue Hose at 29-4. Both teams met four times last season, with the Bulldogs going 3-1 against PC. The Citadel emerged victorious with a 3-1 win in the series finale on May 12.  
 
Scouting Presbyterian
PC is 4-3 overall, winning their last game against Le Moyne 12-1. The Blue Hose beat Le Moyne twice and lost one to Bowling Green in their previous games. The Blue Hose are hitting .303 as a team with three home runs and 33 RBIs. Teams are hitting .302 against the Blue Hose.
 
Eli Lazio leads the team in hits and average, recording 12 hits on a .571 average.
 
The Blue Hose pitching staff has bolstered a team ERA of 5.37 on 62.0 innings pitched with 37 earned runs and striking out 58 batters.
 
Brash Shows Out
Ben Brash twirled a gem in the series finale against Maine. Brash threw 6.0 innings, striking out four on zero earned runs.
 
Top-Ten for Lively
Matthew Lively is tied for eighth in the NCAA with two triples on the season.  
 
Swiping the Bag
The Citadel stole a season-high six bases against Maine on the series finale, marking it the most since 2018.
 
On Deck
The Citadel hosts the Yale Bulldogs for a three-game series on Feb. 28-Mar. 2 inside Joe Riley Park.
