The Citadel secured their first Southern Conference season series against the Mercer Bears. This achievement marks the first time since 2019 that the Bulldogs claimed victory in their first series opener at Joe Riley Park. In 2019, the Bulldogs won two out of three games against VMI.
Shutout for the Bulldogs
The Citadel has recorded shutouts against three opponents this season, with two shutouts against Yale and one against Mercer. The last time the Bulldogs shut out Mercer was in 2015, when current pitching coach
