CHARLESTON, S.C. – Strong relief pitching and timely hitting from The Citadel secured a 4-2 win over the College of Charleston Cougars. The Bulldogs' bullpen threw eight scoreless innings.

How It Happened

The College of Charleston took advantage of an error committed by The Citadel, allowing the Cougars to score the first run of the game in the first inning.
The Cougars added their second run of the first with an RBI groundout to go up 2-0.
Thomas Rollauer recorded the first run of the game for The Citadel with an RBI single to center field, scoring Garrett Dill to make it 2-1.
The Citadel tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double from Tyler Christmas, scoring Rollauer at 2-2.
Robbie Lane followed Christmas with his own RBI double, scoring Christmas from second to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 3-2 in the fourth.
Aryan Patel entered the game in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and recorded a groundout to prevent any runners from scoring.
The Citadel was held scoreless until the eighth inning until Garrett Fulmer executed the hit and run, which brought Elliott home to give the Bulldogs a two-run lead heading into the ninth inning.
Anthony Hausner secured the victory by executing the game-winning double play, leading the Bulldogs to a 4-2 win.
